Loads of Fun!

Happy Tuesday!

I'm super excited to share my laundry closet with you today!
We started by painting stripes on the walls of the closet.
We used the colors Accessible Beige and Pure White by Sherwin Williams.

The hangers are from Marshalls.
The ironing board is from Target.
The iron is from Sears.

I absolutely love Meyers Clean Day detergent in Basil Scent.
Not only is the bottle the perfect color, but the smell is fresh and clean!

The Laundry sign is by The Painted Nest.

I'm super happy with the way this space turned out.
It makes laundry day NOT so bad. :)

Have a great week!

Rug Pads! Who knew!?

Happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!
Today I'm talking about rug pads.
I know, not such a glamorous topic but it is actually a key for adding comfort to your room.
In the past I would recommend rug pads to my design clients. It was supposed to help with the movement and cushion of the rug but it never really worked.
I recently discovered Rug Pad USA . I had no idea that high quality rug pads existed, I was so used to the cheap flimsy ones.

I wanted to add extra comfort to my upstairs loft rug because it always felt like we were standing on our wood floor even with the rug under our feet. The solution was our carefully picked
Premium-Lock rug pad.

This is our loft.

We spend most of our time in our loft so our area rug gets a lot of traffic.

This is before we added our rug pad.

This is after with our Premium-Lock Felt and Rubber Rug Pad

There are three layers of protection built into this rug pad.
1. A needle punched felt surface is designed to grab and hold the bottom of your area rug.

2. A dense felt core adds comfort, support, and floor protection.
I chose the 1/3'' thickness.

3. A grooved natural rubber backing grabs your floors and prevents rug movement in any direction.

After we added the rug pad we noticed an immediate improvement.
After a week of testing the rug pad I can say that we are excited to have installed it.
Visually there is no evidence that the pad is even there, mostly due to having it custom cut-to-fit. Under-sizing the rug pad about an inch all around the edge, is recommended.
The Premium-Lock rug pad can be found here.

Christmas Home Tour 2015

Happy Christmas Eve!

I'm finally getting around to posting my Christmas photos from this year!
It's been such a busy December! Better late than never huh?!
I hope you enjoy it!

Our Front Porch.
We went to our local Lowes Home Improvement
and got our Wreath and Garland!
I just love the smell of fresh pine!

I embellished our wreath with starfish and ribbon.

Our front door color is Tropical Bay by Valspar Paint.

Our Coastal Christmas Living Room.
We had our tree flocked at a local tree lot.
I just love the look!
It gives the tree a winter wonderland look!
It also goes great with our coastal decor!

Our Starfish Tree Topper I made a few years back!

Coastal Dining Room.

I love this sign!
We found it at Homegoods.
My favorite place to shop!

Our Kitchen
I went with a snowman theme!

Chalkboard writing and present wrapping in the photos
were done by my super talented bestie Jess at The Walt House

Our Loft.
We went more traditional in our loft.
I just love the aqua and red!
They look so nice together!

Don't forget to leave cookies and milk out for Santa! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by!
Merry Christmas from my home to yours!

Cottages and Bungalows!

Happy Friday!

What a great week it's been! On Tuesday I had the Editor and her crew from the magazine Cottages and Bungalows shooting on location at my home! It was such a fun day and super interesting to watch how magazines shoots are done! Below are a few photos from the day!

Behind the scenes photo.

The Cottages and Bungalows issue will be out next Christmas. It's going to be a wait but worth it!

Have a great weekend!
